Hi Bret – My name is Jeannine and I recently saw your picture on the Scar Projects Facebook page. I posed for David Jay in 2008. I was dx with Inflammatory Breast Cancer at 26, I am proud to say I am approaching my 7 year cancerversary on April 19th! Since my diagnosis I have vowed to never stop fighting and in that journey I became apart of Komen Philly. I am currently a Co-Chair of the 2014 Race with 3 other lovely ladies I am blessed to call friends who were all under 30 at diagnosis. We are also the leaders of a new program that was created by the CEO of Komen Philly after meeting us, it is called “The Big Pink Footprint”, bascially it is our mark as young survivors on the fight against breast cancer, bringing the fight into our generation as I also help with the Young Professionals group of Komen, and it is also geared toward the needs younger women face. So why am I babbling on about this to you… well I have been searching for men, preferably young men with breast cancer to be apart of this group. I know how rare it is for you to have been diagnosed as my type of cancer accounts for less than 1% of all breast cancers, is extremely aggressive and at Stage IIIB I wasn’t given long to live, but I have beaten the odds, and will continue to!! So if you are interested I would love to hear from you! Our Race is Mother’s Day, May 11th at the Art Museum in Philly and we have our own tent where we are doing a Wall of Young Survivors… would love to have your picture up there too. I hope all is well with your journey and I hope to hear from you soon 🙂 Jeannine – ps. please check out the website to read more about us 4 ladies and The Big Pink Footpink!
